EX2743 Museum Quality Two Piece Gorham Fish Set Circa 1870

An important fish serving set with incredible Indian influenced engraving on the blades and tines. The surfaces are satin finished and gold washed. The handles are also finely engraved and terminate with a cast winged cherub on a milled edge pedestal. There is a twisted band of silver from the handles to the reinforced reverse of the blades. Length: 13 1/2" and 10 1/2". Combined weight: 10.45 troy ounces.

A rare set of 12 spoons by Gorham with embossed strawberries in the bowl. The handles have wire wrapped around in multiple places. EX2464 Interesting set of 12 spoons by Gorham circa 1880

A set of 12 fruit spoons with gold washed bowls by Gorham with ornate Gothic style monograms on an applied shield at the top of the handle. The bowls are shaped in the form of a leaf and the wire handles have a ivy vine wrapped around the length of the handle terminating in an applied shield. The Gorham hallmarks, sterling and the number 44 are stamped on the back of each shield. Length: 6".

A fine three dimensional pierced sifter marked sterling only but known to be the work of Whiting, circa 1875. The bowl has a satin finish and a gold wash as does the stamen in the flower at the top of the handle. Length: 8 1/2"

A sterling silver gold washed ice cream knife in pristine condition. There is a large beautifully engraved "B" monogram on the blade. Note :Charles Osborne who was responsible for the design of the Ivory pattern also worked for Tiffany. One can similarities in the designs with his influence in items manufactured by both firms.
