A Gorham sterling master butter knife in the Lady pattern of exceptional quality with parcel gilt and satin finished detail. The gauge and weight of this particular piece is much heavier than other pieces in this pattern that we have encountered. A sterling silver table suite comprising four tall candlesticks 14 1/4" tall, a large centerpiece vase with sterling frog which can be used as a champagne bucket, 14" at finial, four pepper shakers 6 1/4" and four open salts 2 1/4" tall. Total weight: 220 troy ounces. All pieces have a custom embossed "D" monogram incorporated into the French influences scroll design with gadrooned borders. RH3047 Important Shiebler Aesthetic Fruit Bowl with Sugar and Creamer Circa 1880

A large museum quality important American sterling silver hammered naturalistic leaf bowl by Shiebler with an applied handle on the side. The bowl has an applied canopy made up of cast and applied vines and leaves from which patinated copper cherries and other silver fruit are suspended. The canopy is surmounted by a large applied realistic silver spider. The entire bowl is lightly gold washed and satin finished on the outside. Marked with the Shiebler S with wings and sterling as well as a French touch mark on the rim. Length 14" across the handle. Height 8 1/2". Weight 57.75 troy ounces. Two leaves have applied bugs.
Accompanying this large bowl is a sugar basket in the form of a large gold washed leaf with a large spider at the top. Length 4 1/2". Weight 3.8 troy ounces. Height 3". The creamer is similarly made up of a large hammered leaf with a circular handle surmounted by a large realistic spider. Length 5". Height 2". Weight 3.2 troy ounces.

H2441 Hand chased Coffee Pot By J E Caldwell

A finely chased sterling silver coffee pot retailed by J E Caldwell of Philadelphia and most probably the work of Peter Rider. Circa 1870. Crisp sharp chasing of multiple flowers and leaves on the body which measures 11" tall. The handle and spout have a three dimensional vine with grapes wrapped around a naturalistic branch form. The handle has two ivory insulating inserts. The bottom, lid and neck is chased with a band of acanthus leaves. Weight: 28.7 troy ounces.

Condition: Excellent chasing with sharp detail, all in good order. The lid is hinged and there are no dents or flaws at all.

A rare Whiting sterling silver and applied copper bowl with faceted chasing in the background and an applied three dimensional bird on a branch with copper berries. On the opposite side there is an applied wild flower with engraved background. The third scene depicts a caterpillar on a branch with copper berries. Weight 15.75 troy ounces; diameter 8"; height 2 1/8". Circa 1880 in the Japanese taste.

Condition: Excellent patina and clear detail. Faceting sharp and the applications all in excellent condition. Original gold wash interior.

TJ3193 Tiffany Japanese Parcel Gilted Ice Cream Set

A thirteen piece ice cream set in the rare Japanese pattern by Tiffany dated 1888 with monograms on the reverse of the handles. Brilliant crisp condition with a satin finish still present and the pattern parcel gilted. The birds are silver while the rest is a gold finished background. Length: 11 1/4" and spoons 6"

Note: Parcel gilting really means partially gilted. For maximum effect and for beauty and contrast, manufacturers masked off the areas that they wanted to preserve on a pattern and gold washed the remainder. The effect was quite stunning. In the case of this particular set which has not been over polished, the contrast is dramatic with the birds remaining silver and the rest gold washed.
