RH1189 Large Chinese Silver Table Box

A large Chinese silver box by Wang Hing, circa 1890, in perfect condition with the original gold washed interior, and four applied cast feet on the bottom. The box has the finest chasing of dragons and scenes on all the sides. The lid is hinged. 6 3/4" wide by 4 1/2" tall by 4 1/2" deep. Never monogrammed. Weight 26.2 troy ounces.

RH1404 Shreve Sterling Coffee Pot

A coffee pot by Shreve, weight 26.10 troy ounces with chased faces and leaves. the handle has the face of a dog like creature at the junction with the neck. A beautifully made, heavy item. 9 3/4" tall with the lid. The lid screws on with a bayonet system. Note: 26 troy ounces is an enormous weight for a small coffee pot such as this. The intricate detail and assembly using concealed ivory insulating bands on the handle and cast applications. The chased decoration on the body in a German style is also unique. Shreve designs are quite different to the designs of the New England silversmiths and it is not uncommon to turn over a piece of silver on which one would expect a European mark and see the Shreve mark.

A sterling and copper jardiniere with fine silver application, circa 1880. Height: 3 1/2". the copper has the original reddish patination and lustre applied by the factory over 100 years ago
